Who am I?
A few words
I'm a wife of 12 years to my wonderful husband, Stephen and together we have 2 beautiful children, Zacharey and Victoria. I truly am thankful, grateful and blessed!
I've always had a passion to help people. Before my Massage Therapy career, I was a Certified Nurses' Aide in Home Health. I loved the compassion and personal attention that I was able to give to my patients.
I saw a segment on Massage Therapy one day while watching a popular tv show and I knew this was a career field I would be very good at so I immediately enrolled in Massage School!
I am very proud of my profession and how far medically it has evolved over the past 19 years and is starting to get the respectable recognition it truly deserves! More and more Doctors, Nurses, Chiropractors, Ortho clinics, Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and Psychologists have come to realize that Massage Therapy is another medical modality that works right alongside with the care plans they have set for their patients.
My goal as a Massage Therapist is to teach others that Massage isn't a luxury, but a necessity. I have seen my hands-on work help so many and that's why I'm so passionate about it! It's the most rewarding thing for me to go home to my family with a smile on my face at the end of the day because I helped someone feel better!
I once had a client tell me that out of all of her medical team, I'm the only one that has showed compassion and truly wants to get to the root cause of what's going on. That spoke volumes to me that day and it was a true validation that I am definitely on the career path God has chosen for me!
My calling goes a little further than massage. I have prayed, shed tears with and rejoiced with my clients. They have vented to me about various things, mostly confidential and I am very proud of the fact that my clients trust me to let their guard down and share things with me, whether good or bad experiences in life, they know my time with them is genuine and I want the best care for them.
During the time of Therapeutic Embrace, her first business, it was then she realized her "why" in life was to help her clients in a more clinical and therapeutic approach. Because of her athletic background and her love of running and working out, she is able to connect more with her clients and have a better understanding of how her clients feel and how to palpate their muscles to give them the best possible care that they deserve.
Bonnie J Smith at B Renewed LLC
I graduated from Savannah School of Massage Therapy in 2002 and have almost 19 years in the Massage Profession. I started my full-time Massage career at the Westin in Savannah, Ga at the Greenbrier Spa, which later was renamed The Heavenly Spa by Westin.
With almost 9 years of experience working at one of the most sought after luxurious day spas in the US and Savannah, I gained experience in the spa environment by accepting the role of Lead Therapist and took on that role for almost 7 years.
During that time, I gained knowledge and experience in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone and Prenatal Massages, Reflexology, Body Wraps/Scrubs, numerous off-site chair massage(PR) events, and a wide array of management classes.
In December 2010, an opportunity came along to work for a Chiropractor to gain knowledge in a different area of Massage Therapy. There, I learned a more aggressive and therapeutic approach to muscle manipulation and neuromuscular techniques and stretches to apply to patients that are in a more labor-intensive work environment or patients that are experiencing acute and/or chronic pain.
Because of my love and passion for Massage Therapy I have opened B Renewed, which is my second massage business. Previous to B Renewed, I was co-owner to the award-winning Therapeutic Embrace (September 2013-September 2019) that won awards every year it was open like Best Spa, Best Massage Therapist, Most Fabulous Spa and Spa Experience and Best of the Best of the Coastal Empire.
